SkillNG presents at scwomenintech Exhibition, Lagos
We were quite pleased to have been invited to have a booth and present our services at the Standard Chartered Bank Women in Technolog Exhibition that held at Five Cowries Terminal, Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, June 18th 2019.
The invitation to exhibit at the event came as a surprise because it was out of the blues, we did not lobby or convince anyone to invite us to present at the programme. This, we believe is a form of validation of the amazing work we do at SkillNG and its resultant impact.
As part of Standard Chartered’s effort to encourage women and tech startups in Nigeria, the #scwomenintech exhibition was launched to pioneer the Standard Chartered Womenintech Incubator programme through which the bank hopes to incubate and launch tech-oriented Female-led Startups.
Some of the speakers invited to the Exhibition include: Odunayo Eweniyi (Cofounder,Coo @ Piggyvest), Nike Adeyemi (Executive Director, Fate Foundation), Abisoye Akinfolarin (founder of Girlscoding), Oreoluwa Lesi (Executive Director, Women Technology Empowerment) and Olga Arara-Kimani (Regional Director of Corporate partnerships and marketing, Standard chartered (Africa and Middle East)) .
Some of the other startups invited to the programme include: Oncopadi, Mybasket.ng, NaijaStartups, Infonys Digital Solutions, KidsLearningHub, Emerald Gift cards and Wimbiz
We also leveraged on the opportunity to pitch our Startup and business model to prospective investors and other Startup founders
Our mission for the rest of the year to train 1000 young people for free and intelligently match them to amazing opportunities. We are currently seeking partnerships with Companies and Brands interested in partnering with us to bring this dream to reality.
